Randstad has been a dedicated partner to the Australian energy market for over a decade, consistently providing critical technical engineering resources to both onshore and offshore operations. We are proud to be partnering with Ensign Energy Services, a premier global enterprise that maintains a strong presence in the Australian drilling and well-servicing sector.

About the Role

Ensign Energy is looking for a driven Performance Engineer to join their drilling division in Adelaide. This is a critical role designed to bridge the gap between technical engineering data and real-world field operations. You will be the guardian of their asset integrity, ensuring their rigs operate at peak efficiency through rigorous maintenance scheduling and expert technical analysis.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will take responsibility for analysing technical engineering reports to determine required works and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Take full ownership of the day-to-day administration, monitoring, and updating of Ensign’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system and certificate registers.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Operations and Trades teams to release, prioritise, and address work orders.
  • Manage your portfolio independently, ensuring equipment certification and integrity are maintained across our Australian operations.

This position would suit a confident engineer with an understanding of mechanical equipment utilised across the oil and gas industry who can work autonomously to support operations and trades.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering will be required
  • Technical understanding of drilling rig equipment, assets, and industry standards (API/AS).
  • Proficiency in EAM systems and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to analyse data and audit findings and convert them into practical, field based improvements.
  • Ability to identify trends, non‑conformances, and improvement opportunities to reduce repeat failures and non‑productive time (NPT).
  • A natural communicator who can effectively translate complex requirements to field staff, management, and external clients.
